“By oneself, indeed, is evil done; by oneself is one defiled. By oneself is evil left undone; by oneself, indeed, is one purified. Purity and impurity depend on oneself. No one purifies another.”
The above quote is something I read today in the Dhammapada after my meditation session.
This is one of the things I love about Buddhism. It emphasises personal responsibility. Nobody can, or will, walk the path on your behalf; you have to do it for yourself.
